Summer 1 - spelling test 5

Science 18-5-17

For science we are looking into "What plants need to survive?"

Last week we set up a fair test where we planted seeds in different cups and observed what seed would grow the best depending on the amount of sunlight.

We learnt about what a fair test was and what variables (the thing we changed) are.
The first cup sat in sunlight
The second cup sat with half sunlight half shade
The third cup sat completely in the dark.

Today we looked at the seeds for the last time and made conclusions. We found some very interesting results that we were not expecting.

see if you can spot our plants!
Half shade half Sunlight

 Dark/No light

1M Library visit - 9/5/17

Today 1M went to the Hammersmith library. First we learnt about how to look after books and where we should keep them safe. Then the Librarian read us a story and we got a chance to have a look at some of the books in the library.
This was a great way for the children to find books they enjoy reading and spark some interest!

1M hero art

In 1M we have been busy creating art pieces that link with our topic about the differences of being famous and being a hero. We had to think about what a hero looked like to us and draw these. We used wax crayon and dye to finish.
